Happy Friday! I figured it was time for a garden update. I wish I could say that we’ve been sucessful at the new house and could share with you an abundance of green crops. Unfortunately, that is not the case this year. We decided to reuse the soil that was in the raised garden bed even though it seemed a little sandy. And remember my fear here that little critters would munch on the crops? Well something has a taste for edamame and cucumber plants. So far the peas along the back wall are safe.
The bibb lettuce is doing well and since the lettuce season is almost over we should plan on having some salads this weekend.
The potatoes in the sack are also thriving. I’m not sure when these will be ready to harvest. That’s something for me to look into this weekend.
The prettiest thing in the yard right now are the peonies. Despite us leaving them alone and not doing the proper pruning we they are thriving!
The peonies are in the front of the house and we always use the back door so I think I’ll cut some and decorate the back deck this weekend.
Have a great weekend!
