July 4th Decorating

When we bought our house last year, the Fourth of July was the first night we spent in the new house. I still remember blowing up the air mattress and making coffee on the stove using our camp percolator. We didn’t actually move into the house until much later in the month.  Last year we said we noticed that all of the neighbors seemed to really decorate for the Fourth of July.

This year the holiday really snuck up us. We never did purchase the buntings that we said we wanted to hang. Now I can’t imagine having the time to decorate like some of the gorgeous magazine homes. I wish I had realized June was almost over and had taken a little more time to prepare! I love red, white, and blue!

We hung our flag this morning.  I’ll be doing a little more decorating tonight and will share some photos with everyone tomorrow!

How do you decorate for the 4th?  Share your thoughts and links in the comment section!

I just wanted to let you know that I enjoy your blog. The 4th of July holiday has come so quickly for me also. I think it is because of all of the cool, rainy days here in Maine. It doesn’t feel like summer yet.
