I can’t believe that this is the last Friday in October and I’m still able to come up with something for Friday’s garden update. I thought the cold and frost would have killed everything by now. And I was close – this weekend’s forecast dips below freezing for us! And was that a snowflake I saw yesterday?!
Today’s post isn’t so much about what we’ve grown, or what the critters have eaten, as much as it is about some fall new additions to the yard.
As I mentioned yesterday, we picked up a few new friends at the nursery. We almost made it to Halloween without splurging on mums but in the end we couldn’t resist.
For a little while there was some confusion on my part as to where the mums should go and if it made sense to put the large planters down at the end of the driveway and the mums on the deck.
My husband was such a good sport to deliver the ginormous planters to my side only to have me send them back.
We also grabbed three Montauk daisy plants. But left the buzzing bees behind. If you look closely you can see a few.
The daisies were important to buy to keep up with my landscaping strategy of having something bloom every month.
Have a great weekend everyone!
