Fall Centerpieces

We are not planning on having guests for Thanksgiving this year but it hasn’t stopped me from thinking about ways to bring fall into our house.  Our cape has a beach cottage feel so in the cooler months I feel like I need to warm it up with some seasonal elements.  Last  year I decorated our dining table very simply for the Thanksgiving holiday since I knew the table would quickly fill up with food and glasses!

This year I think I can do better and have been collecting a few organic ideas.

While I love the look of using beans, nuts, cranberries, etc., I have a hard time doing this. It’s a little crazy, but I hate wasting food. It’s not about the money but about the environment. So much energy, water, and pesticides goes into growing our food and then so much fuel is consumed delivering it that I really hate to waste it.

Anyways, discovering natural elements in the fall like pine cones, acorns, and berries is so much more fun! Like the silver dollars I found here!

Do you have any easy DIY ideas for fall decorating?
