Since we’ve been taking some time off from home improvements lately, I thought I’d share with you some of my last minute gift ideas for the home. Some of these things we have in our house and some are on my wish list for this year!
Who doesn’t love a cozy throw blanket for watching movies on the couch? Pottery Barn has a great selection of throws this year and this cable knit one with a fleece lining is one of my favorites. It’s currently on sale for $99 but they have several choices in varying prices.
The Gurgling Cod is a staple in the classier New England home. This photo was taken from Long’s Jewelers but you can find the pitcher in three sizes at other Boston jewelers including Shreve, Crump & Low. Prices range from $50 to $100 and colors vary. There are also various other fish pitchers on-line that mimic this classic.
I don’t know about you, but I love to pick out fun mugs. Our cabinet is a mismatch of mugs in varying colors and sizes. I usually look for something fun with a thick wall to hold the heat. And it must be dishwasher safe. This mug is from Crate and Barrel for $17. They have a fun assortment online.
This Laguiole cheese knife set is at Anthropologie for $32. I love that they offer this set in fun colors.
Another less expensive idea is new kitchen towels. We have these towels in our kitchen and love them. I’m a sucker for a cute printed fabric. You can find these at Williams Sonoma for $12.
A new serving platter is always on my wish list. They are always the wrong size or chipping. This one with sandpipers from Kate Spade is adorable. You can find it at Macy’s or Bed Bath and Beyond. I believe Kate Spade herself sold out already!
A grown up beer opener is also on our wish list. I saw this Mariposa whale shaped bottle opener earlier this year at a local jewelry store and fell in love. It retails for $28 at various online retailers.
Anything by John Robshaw is always welcome in our house. We love his bedding which retails online at his self-titled website and at Neiman Marcus. We are very lucky to have found one of his quilts on-sale since the prices tend to be a little steep. The quality is notably different and well worth it.
I gratefully confess that I am done with my Christmas shopping as of yesterday! I just need to finish wrapping. I started this weekend but had to pause after running out of paper.
Have you finished your holiday shopping? What’s on your wish list?
