Grinding Stumps

I’m happy to say we didn’t have to spend the weekend grinding the stumps. The tree company came back to finish up their job. I can’t image how long it would have taken us to take out the stumps ourselves.

We were left with huge heaps of mulch to clean up after they left.

We seized this as an opportunity to try out our new Christmas work boots! Don’t we look fabulous?

(And as a reminder, Howard refuses to let his photo be in this blog. Although, if you look hard enough, there is a partial one somewhere.)

It took many wheelbarrows full to get the mulchy mess cleaned up.

In the end it was worth it and we have a new perimeter of clean fill that we are hoping keeps the poison ivy away.

And you can barely tell there ever was the world’s greatest tree here. At least not while the yard is looking cold and grey.

I have to say, I’m a bit frozen as I type this entry. It got pretty cold as the sun started to set. Despite the sunshine, it’s still not spring in Massachusetts!

What did you do this weekend? Have you started to work in the yard yet this year?
