Weekend Whirlwind

Our weekend started out with a steady, unexpected, snowfall on Saturday morning.

This snow completely ruined our plans for yard work, but we got a few errands done including a trip to the lighting store and another trip to the tile store. I’ll post more about those adventures later in the week because I’m dying to show off our latest project!

We spent Sunday making a wood pile holder. This wasn’t only inspired by the piles of wood everywhere in the yard….

It was partly inspired by pile that fell down earlier this week by the high winds…

And also inspired by the need to have somewhere to put all of the new wood once it’s split.

It was great to spend an afternoon out in the yard. The temperature reached 52 degrees and the sun felt wonderful after a grey winter. There are a little signs everywhere that spring is coming soon.

I will post more details about the making of the wood pile holder later this week so make sure to check back. I hope everyone had a good weekend!
