Just a Trim

I created a gigantic to-do list yesterday. Our day began with a quick trip to the grocery store and a few loads of laundry. Then it was time to trim the hedges.

The backyard wasn’t in dire need of attention but Mishu was begging to be outside so I decided to give her some time outside and work around the deck first.

After a quick trim, the boxwood were looking nice and square. The more frequently we trim them, the denser the plant grows so there are no holes left when we trim.

After raking up the mess, it was time to tackle the front of the house.

This side of the house gets the most sun and some of the plants had gotten a little out of control.

Translation: very out-of-control.

More trimming ensued.

Howard got stung by a bee but in the end, the seven hours of yard work were worth it.

We didn’t spend all seven hours trimming but planting and raking too. We were exhausted by the end of the day. And we didn’t get through our long to-do list. I’m hoping this maintenance will last us through the summer and we can spend some time enjoying the weather.

What did you do this weekend? Any gardening or yard work?
