Since I had the spray paint out over the weekend to paint the shower caddy here, I couldn’t resist another little side project. My mother was going to toss these shells and I just couldn’t let her do that!
I had bought a shell dish last year by Julia Knight and that was the inspiration for the latest project. The shell is made of silver and has a pink interior. But, since I didn’t have any pink paint, I made one with a blue interior!
First I painted the inside and let it dry to the touch, then flipped it over and painted the outside in what else but.. Gold!
I think my affection towards the gold spray paint is because it is a Rustoleum paint and it spray a million times better than the blue Valspar spray paint. I will not buy Valspar spray paint again. The can is awkward and the paint does not go on evenly. The gold paint is much easier to work with and leaves a brilliant gold finish!
So that’s it for spray paint projects this week. It really wasn’t a surprise that I was painting something gold again was it?
Make sure to stop by tomorrow for a colorful garden update!
