Breaking and Hanging in the Porch

Lately, I’ve been a little klutzy to say the least. I’ve had a few scrapes and bruises. But until now, I haven’t broken anything. Whoops!

While vacuuming the porch I knocked over the last succulent in a jar. The cactus is fine. Breaking the glass actually made me realize the poor thing needs more soil. I’m bummed because the glass was from our table centerpiece at our wedding so it was a little sentimental. C’est la vie!

Anyways, that brings me to the latest porch project. It involved these two little lanterns from Crate and Barrel.

I’ve been wanting to hang the lanterns for some time. Only it took us awhile to remember to buy some brackets at the hardware store.

Since the project had waited so long I wasn’t going to let the white colored brackets slow me down.  Especially with a can of oil rubbed bronze spray paint waiting at home.

After a few quick coats of paint and an afternoon of drying, the lanterns were ready to be hung.

Even the hanging mermaid approves.

Did you get any little projects out of the way this weekend? Let me know!
