Since my last post was about not being in the Christmas spirit, I thought it was time for some holiday cheer. I looked at wreaths at Lowe’s over the weekend but I just couldn’t bring myself to splurge on four wreaths for the front windows with only a week and change left until Christmas. A few years ago I put together some holiday planters (here) and the memory made me realize I could come up with my own wreath-like creation without spending a dime.
I cut some holly and pine greens and brought them inside. I do not recommend bringing cut greens inside – what a mess. Anyways, I quickly tied them together with an elastic band.
And then I added a red bow to cover the elastic.
I used my favorite twist-tie trick to create a hanging hook in the back of the greens.
And in five minutes flat I had some hanging greenery.
This idea was perfect for our back door since a wreath hanger doesn’t work on the back door.
Are you in the Christmas spirit yet?
