It’s hard to tell from this picture. But our front door on the Cape is orange.
Very very orange. Although the screen makes it look much more muted from the street. But, when the door is open to the inside the orange is kind of screaming in our faces.
So I picked up a bunch of Benjamin Moore samples in more of the beachy blues this weekend and sat outside sorting them into files.
Then I narrowed down the choices to two.
I felt rather non-committal (no surprise there) and coerced Howard into a bike ride to gawk at other front doors in the neighborhood. And 99 percent of them are blue. And they look fabulous. But they are on more traditional cape houses with cedar shingles. And why do we want to look like everyone else?
This leads me to my latest beachy-colored thinking found via pinterest.
But the darker blues still look nice too.
I guess all of the above color choices would look better than the orange in my book. We just need to make a decision. With so many shades of the rainbow available, picking a color is one of the hardest things to do at our house.
